Inpatient Geriatric Healthcare Programs

Inpatient care is available through the Behavioral Health Unit at Hebrew Health Care in West Hartford, CT, and Masonicare Hospital in Wallingford, CT. CMHS Medical Director Dr. Martin Cooper, MD FAPA, leads these programs. Please note that facilities may also choose to utilize other hospitals.
Hebrew Health Care and Masonicare’s programs ensure excellent communication with referring facilities and provides trustworthy progress reports.
Continuity of care: CMHS clinicians provide care at facility and inpatient unit levels.

Do you accept different insurances?

Yes, CMHS accepts Medicare, Medicaid, most managed Medicare plans, and most commercial insurance plans.

Are there any fees for your services?

No, there are NO HIDDEN FEES. Our services are of NO COST to facilities. We bill insurance companies directly. In fact, CMHS can help reduce costs in your facility:

Reduced unnecessary Emergency Department visits
Elimination/reduction of costly medications
Complimentary inservices on the topics of your choice
Our comprehensive documentation allows you to avoid survey deficiency fines

Are your owners actively involved in the company?

Yes. Dr. Cooper, MD FAPA (psychiatrist) is committed to CMHS full-time. He participates in the company’s daily operations and clinical matters. Dr. Cooper regularly treats residents and also mentor CMHS clinicians.

Our current mental health provider does not respond promptly to emergencies; we sometimes wait for days. How quickly can you respond?

Our full-time Clinical Director is available to help triage crises. Our response typically occurs within 24 hours, though most often, within a few hours of notification.

Do your clinicians take the time to talk with the residents? Too many simply prescribe a pill and move on to the next patient.

The resident’s experience, in their own words, is one of the most important pieces of our assessment. Our clinicians take the time to gather as much information as possible before developing a treatment plan. We also offer psychotherapy services through Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSWs) when appropriate. In combination with medication management, regular psychotherapy is proven more effective in managing many mental health issues.
